The Japanese woman, suggested by mass media, have two roles in society. She is either a beautiful, elegant Geisha, full of grace and charm, or a super fierce, kick-ass warrior woman. If you had to pic, which would you be?
The Geisha is trained in all artistic and social skills, which they must master in order to survive her society, performing beautiful, traditional japanese music and dances all while entertaining very wealthy business men who pay well for their company. I don‘t know too many woman, after watching the film ¨Memoirs of a Geisha¨, who did not want to be, on some level, a Geisha, self included. And in case you have not see it yet… what are you waiting for?! it‘s a ‘Must-See‘!
However, on the opposite spectrum is the warrior. She is usually from a lower class family, having to deal with struggles her whole life. This Japanese fighter is full of honor, morality, family pride and fire! After watching the films ¨Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon¨ and ¨Kill Bill: Vol.2¨ I wanted to be this warrior woman, as well! This woman is nothing to be trifled with, and will bring even the biggest of warriors to their knees. Typically the weapon of choice is her holy sword, which is often larger than she, that has been in the family for generations.
So, how do you choose between the two? To be an beautiful and enchanting Geisha, or a strong and ferocious warrior? Well, luckily for you, designer Camilla Wellton gives you the best of both worlds. Her designs truely encompasses the strength and ferocity of the warrior woamn, as well as the style and grace of the gorgeous geisha, all done with meticulous percision and workmanship.
